Aranygaluska

Ingredients
500g flour
20g yeast
2 egg yolks
300ml of milk
100 grams of butter
50g sugar
Pinch of salt

For the topping:
200 g ground walnuts
150 g sugar
80 g butter
Tablespoon of vanilla sugar

Preparation method
Mix the flour, yeast, sugar and milk together with the butter, egg yolks and a pinch of salt into a firm mass. Let this rise for some time and then roll it flat with a rolling pin. Make small round figures from the dough with a cake tin or inverted glass. Place the dough molds in a greased, oven-proof round cake tin and stack them in layers. Mix the ground walnuts with sugar. Drizzle liberally with melted butter and the walnut-any sugar concoction.
Cover and let rise for 30 minutes until doubled in size.

Bake in a preheated oven at approx. 180 ° C for 30 - 35 minutes. As soon as the aranygaluska is golden brown these are ready. Finally, sprinkle with vanilla sugar or icing sugar.
Arany means gold and refers to the golden brown color of the pastry. Traditionally, the aranygaluska is broken down (not cut) and dipped in vanilla or chocolate cream.
Aranygaluska is delicious as a dessert or cake during a (birthday) party.
