Betyártarhonya for the real Betyárs!

Ingredients (4 pers.):

2 tbsp. lard

150 g kolbász

1 red onion (in rings)

1 red or green pointed pepper

100 g Tarhonya

1 tsp. Haragos Pista or Erős Pista

500 ml broth / water

Salt, freshly ground pepper

Finely chopped parsley

Preparation method

Heat lard or sunflower oil in a frying pan. Fry the sliced kolbász until fat is released. Add the onion and fry while stirring. Sprinkle with tarhonya, fry it briefly and add the sliced bell pepper. Stir. Add a little Haragos Pista or Erős Pista as a seasoning and cover with stock. Let the whole now simmer covered gently until the tarhonya is done. Regular stirring prevents the tarhonya from sticking. Season with salt and pepper to taste and sprinkle with chopped parsley.
